My thoughts and prayers are with the Family, but there is also a very comforting message that comes from what Jesus Christ had spoken about found in John 5:28,29 in which we find him giving us a future promise of him resurrecting our dead loved ones back to life again and by his death, the opportunity to live forever is open to us all. The proof of that is found in the Bible book in Psalm 37:29.
