I knew Emily from her year's attending the Alplaus United Methodist Church. She was a great friend to everyone there and loved to give her cute home made items as gifts. I have several of them and often think of her when I see them. She sewed covers for your dish soaps that looked like little aprons, sleeves for your plastic bags and the funniest, but treasured one she gave me is a brick covered with fabric with a hat pin stuck in it. She told me to keep it by my front door in case someone came to my door and tried to force there way in. That way I could hit them with the brick and stick them with the pin. I laughed when she gave it to me and said I had never seen anything like that before, but she was serious that she wanted me to have it. To this day I have it by my front door and grin and think of Emily when I see it. She was missed when she decided to attend Burnt Hills UMC, due to a pastor change at Alplaus and I will always have fond memories of her. Rest in peace Emily, your work is done here :)
