Charles, or Marion as he was known to many, was my great uncle. His wife Linda is an aunt of my father Lanny Hall, even though they were in the same high school class. Marion was a good friend to my family, and whenever we'd see him during my youth he and my parents got on very well. He even looked a little like my father. I remember visits to their house in Olathe when I and my sister Casey were young. It was cool to have an older cousin, Kristin, and I remember so many Snoopy and Charlie Brown Christmas ornaments and decorations in the house. The sadness I feel at Marion's passing is much more acute knowing that Kristin died so very young. I don't think I saw any of the Pattersons/Masoners after my grandmother Estelle (Patterson) Hall died in 1994, which is shameful on my part. I hope Aunt Linda finds peace in her many wonderful memories, and in knowing she took such good care of Marion in recent years.
