I met Moose when we were both working as volunteer staff for Campus Life in the early 70s. We had some great times working on their events, including the haunted house. At my wedding, Moose accepted gifts from the guests at the door, but he could have easily passed as “Security.” In his tux, he was an imposing, and somewhat intimidating sight. However, Moose was a lovable teddy bear—and he was ticklish! “Security” could have been disabled with the mere threat of being tickled!
At the reception, Moose saw the ladies in the kitchen struggling to prepare the sherbet punch. He stepped in to show them a more efficient method. Moose simply washed his hands, picked up the sherbet, and plopped it in the punch bowl. Who needs utensils!
I haven’t seen or spoken to Moose in decades, but he touched my life, as I’m sure he touched so many others. He did it by simply being Moose. If your lifepath ever crossed his, I’m sure you have a story. Moose, we will meet again!
