The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Ted Rudolph can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

It is with mixed emotions I write my condolences. It saddens me for your loss but also brings me many smiles and wonderful memories. It’s strange as I only knew Ted a couple of weeks, but those couple of weeks I’ll never forget. I met Ted in the Toronto airport back in 2004 waiting for my big trek of NZ. After speaking with Ted and his friend John he invited me to contact him at his sisters Moetu in Whangeri where I stayed. Ted also invited me to stay at his other sisters Darlene in Bland Bay where I did some fishing ate some traditional meals (pippies?) or some fish stew on toast in morning. I remember him asking me if I wanted the best part of the fish that was caught by Lamina as he sucked one of its eyes out. I smile as I write, I also remember him saying if I were riding a bike he would call me pakeha or “meals on wheels”. I still have my Roimata his mother not only gave me but had blessed. I have mentioned Ted and you his family whenever I speak of my trip to your amazing country, as it was by far the highlight of my trip; Thank You! To all his family, I am very sorry for your loss. Smile with the memories.
