The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Tom Shoebottom can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Laura Landers

My sincere sympathies to the family for their loss of Tom. I was thrilled to meet him after he purchased the 'Kruger' Homestead. You see, my father, Lawrence Kruger and his brother Herb were raised in that house. Their parents were Carrie and Adolph Kruger (who built it). Little 2 year old brother Milton Kruger passed away so young and he was buried in the Zion Lutheran cemetery. When Tom purchased and restored the old homestead, our whole family was so happy. He put life back into it and saved it from derelict conditions. I loved popping by to have a little look at the place as often as I could-and always said hello. I would love to hear from family members and keep in touch. Tom, you were always such a wonderful person to talk to and so happy we were able to meet and enjoy a little bit of Northern history together. Laura
