Julia was a favorite of my mother, Marian Engle Hoffert. She enjoyed and appreciated her cards and letters, as did I, and Mother always remembered Julia's birthday with a card and a check. Julia was always friendly, witty and eager to share her family stories and knowledge. Her dedication to family genealogy and lore made her a most valuable member of the widespread Engle clan. My mother also died this year, but if she were alive she would be so saddened to know of Julia's too early passing.
