Boat influenced me in a great number of ways. He was a coach, history teacher, and mentor. As a teacher, Jim lectured like he was a college professor. His class was always entertaining, interesting, and fun. I am on the path of becoming an educator--and I owe much of that to Boat. Along with a few other teachers at Wood River, Boat showed me how rewarding the profession of teaching could be. -Ross
