Stories from the Swamplands

Joe and I were neighbors with Andy and Bonnie in a reclaimed swamp near New Orleans - Destrehan, Louisiana. We were all from the same area of Texas, and became immediate BFF. We laughed, partied, laughed some more and played hours and hours of Bridge - men vs women. Of course, this only brought on more laughter and love. Also, Andy and I knew the words to all the old songs from '20's onward, and I would stumble around on my keybord and we'd both sing....our favorite "It's Only A Shanty, in old Shanty Town." One of our favorite stories of Andy took place at the CMA Awards in Nashville. Andy had recently lost a lot of weight and had forgotten to bring his suspenders to wear with his dress pants. When we got off the elevator on our floor after the awards, for some reason his pants fell off. I think he had been holding them up all night with his hand and finally let go. One of many hilarious incidents happened in Italy when "Curly and Joe" we're to get us all chocolate ice cream (gelato). After 10 minutes of placing our order with the waiter we were eventually brought 4 cups of hot chocolate. So many memories of that trip. Andy was always workin' on his "git along" and he NEVER went anywhere for no light courtin'. Miss our Good Friend So Much. And the love and laughter will never stop growing.
