Leo Henry Thompson, rooted five generations deep in the Muskoka soil his family calls home, peacefully passed in his 81st year on April 21st, 2017 at the Algonquin Grace Hospice. Predeceased by his treasured wife Elizabeth (Dolly) and his angel parents Bernice and Reid and brothers Joe and Carl. Wonderful father to Ron (Pam nee Hudson), Evelyn (Nansen Smith), Norm (Gabriele nee Stackowski) and Tonya (Colin Gore). Grandfather to Michelle, Matthew, Crystal, Elizabeth, Seth, Rachel, Jonathan, Samuel, Samantha, Christina, Logan, Rebecca, Seamus, Benjamin, Alanna, Jacob, Braiden, Sadie, Mackenzie and Sierra also great-grandfather to sixteen.

Leo's generosity assisted many serving missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and those he quietly helped either financially or by other means including completing tax returns for up to 200 friends annually at no cost. Valued for his common sense, humour and warmth Leo's life included working hard initially in London and finally Rexdale as a foreman for a paper products firm. He returned to Utterson sharing a home with his sister Patricia for 13 years.

The Thompson family will receive friends and family for a visitation at 11:30 am on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the LDS church on Taylor Rd in Bracebridge. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 pm at the church. The reception will take place immediately following the service. The interment will take place at the Stephenson Township Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
