The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Leo Thompson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Kind of Like a Big Soft Arm-Chair

I was 12 years old when I met the wonderful Thompson family......who were generous, loving and loads of fun. Swimming in their backyard pool on a hot and humid London Ont. afternoon was a marvelous treat. I sensed then and observed with clarity in my adult years, Leo's unassuming and kind disposition. He simply accepted and encouraged everyone for who they were. That was a unique gift and made him a very comfortable person to be around..... kind of like a big soft arm-chair.

I am deeply apprecaitive that Leo supported Dolly and the kids in their church endeavors. Dolly was my primary teacher in a class of just one. She had a profound impact on my life with her uncomplicated view of the world - "do what you know is right and don't do what you know is wrong". Her personal witness of Jospeh Smith bore into my soul..... I can still feel the power of her conviction almost 50 years later. Had Leo not been so supportive of Dolly and the family and our friendship together, my story would not be as complete or wonderful. I have also loved that my path has occassionally crossed that of Leo and the Thompson kids over all these years. Leo, Dolly and youThompson kids.......realy are the very best!
