The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Donald Tuttle can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

John Hale

When I worked at Capital Weekly, Don Tuttle would drop in about once a week and leave a few candy treats at each person's desk. If the worker was free, Don would stop and engage in some lively conversation. He was the most natural comedian I ever knew. He would spin a yarn that you didn't know was a joke until he sprang the punch line at just the right moment when you couldn't help laughing out loud. After I retired, Don and I kept in touch by telephone. He was a great, kind friend with a razor-sharp wit. As he grew older, his family and friends urged him to enter the Maine Veterans' Home where he would be "treated like a king," as he put it. But Don would growl, "I don't want to be put in a nursing home." And he succeeded in his wish, spending his final days at home. My sympathy goes out to Donald Tuttle's large family. He was a unique soul. I'm sure he's making the angels in heaven laugh out loud.
