Don and I were the best of friends in High School. We drove to Wisconsin when we were both 15. Back then it was legal to drive with a learners permit if a licensed driver was in the car. Herb Hardesty went with us and Herb was 16! So we were legal. We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. Another time Herb was getting into a fight with another guy and in the process I got cut and Don drove me to the emergency room and I bled all over Don's car. Don was making jokes the whole way. He wanted me to maybe quit bleeding for awhile. :) Always dry humor and most didn't understand his humor. I went to the University of Illinois, Don became an air traffic controller and somehow we completely lost track of one another, but I have thought about him a lot. See you in the great beyond Don.
