The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Douglas Strehle can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Big Doug

Doug when we think of the times we called you super early in the mornings to help thaw frozen pipes, you'd show up with a hot cup coffee, and a smile, Or if clay needed something welded

You took to our son and tell stories that would make his face turn RED. You taught him to weld and Drink ha ha. If you called and JR would say I'm going to dougs there was a few times he'd call for a ride home,  I'd send his dad up and ha ha I would get a call to get both of them.

Seriously you were the best friend Clay Jr ever had, he'd head into Elk camp with you and come home with so many stories. All you ever ask me for was a couple apple pies or bread..  I was proud to help you find out about your VA benifits.  JR would talk a little about your days on the ship in Nam,

I know I thanked you more than once for your service but my friend THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR YOUR SERVICE.

I know you and Tom Craig are up in heaven exchanging stories once again. We love you and miss you so much. We will all meet again...

I know you ask for your ashes to be laid on the mountain you hunted on for years, there my friend we can stop have a drink with you while we reminisce up there...
