As My DCC Instructor, Mr. Lombardi Make A Big Impact on My Life

Mr. Lombardi was my DCC instructor for Business Communication in the spring 1966 semester.  Even though I only earned a C in the course, I still remember and use what I learned in that class to this day.  Over the years, I have remained proficient in office procedures regardless of the technology.  I vividly remember Mr. Lombardi teaching the class how to write effective business letters.  One hint stands out:  he said never to end a letter with "Don't hesitate to contact me," because the reader will remember the negative words "don't" and "hesitate."  He challenged me to say the same message but with different words. To this day, I still end letters with "Feel free to contact me at any time."  After a success business office career, I earned my teaching credentials and retired as an instructor from the United States Military Academy.  Mr. Lombardi was a teacher who helped me become a good teacher.  I am sorry never to have said "thank you" to him, but I can share this story with his family.  My sympathies and condeolence to the Lombardi family. He was a very nice man and a very good teacher.
