Estelle, teacher and friend
Estelle, a very caring, compassionate, kind and generous lady.
She was our school teacher who became our close dear family friend.
Estelle taught us in the 9th concession of Lancaster in a one room school house with students from grade 1 to 8. There was no electricity or running water; a wood stove to heat and a crock for water.
She and Roger were not blessed with a family but enjoyed great happiness and treasured moments in the company of the children of others.
We have fond memories of times spent with them on the farm. We would visit the calves, feed the cows and clean the stables, run and explore through the fields and forests then return to the house for a delicious home cooked meal.
Some cousins from Detroit during their school age days would spend their summers in Glengarry. They were welcomed and invited to stay at the farm. City kids who cherish to this day their memories of time spent with Estelle and Roger.
No time on earth is long enough to share with those we love or to prepare our hearts for good-bye.
Sharing in Your Sorrow.
