I knew Loretta Zimmerman as Mrs. Zimmerman. She was my 4th grade teacher at Pawnee Elementary - that was 30 years ago. At first I didn't know how to take Mrs. Zimmerman... she was animated and intense. As time went on I became so captivated with her. I realized she was playing with us and keeping us in line while still allowing us to be somewhat mischievous (as 4th graders are). She had funny expressions and would purse her red lips together and crouch down low when anyone would say the word "Jaguar"... We never knew what that word symbolized to her, but I think it was her way of letting us believe we had one over on her. She would let herself be the butt of the joke, which enthralled all of us. She had such a fantastic teaching style - this way of keeping us engaged and interested. A cool memory was when she had a snake wrangler come into the class and I held my first snake, which was bigger then me! I just thought Mrs.Zimmerman was such a sweet soul. She is the only teacher that I bring up and have shared stories about throughout my adulthood. I wish I told her how much she touched my life. Hope she knows that she was loved by her students. Rest in Peace Spunky Mrs. Zimmerman. Much Love to you and your family~
