Obituary for Joanne M. Fletcher (Friedman)

Joanne M. Fletcher (Friedman)
Joanne Fletcher passed away in peace on March 28, 2017. She fought the most courageous fight that anyone could against cancer. Her spirit, love, kindness and totally positive view of life was her final gift to those who loved her. She will live inside of all of us forever.

Joanne is survived by her loving husband, Rich Friedman; her adoring Mother, Irene Sczcepanski; her loving son, Matt Fletcher; her sister, Debbie Sczcepanski who is truly an angel of mercy and brothers, Tom and Bob. She is also survived by a legion of friends whose loyalty is unsurpassed in any of our experiences.

To all who made special efforts to be with her during this journey, words cannot express the heartfelt gratitude that we all feel towards you. The regulars who spent hours on end sitting, talking, crying and laughing with Joanne know who you are and our special love and bond will never die.

Joanne believed that there is no death and that we go from life to life. She put it best of all, she is “off to her next great adventure”.

Homage will be paid to Joanne’s life at a ceremony to be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Damascus Shrine Center, 979 Bay Road Webster, NY 14580 at 2 PM. The ceremony will revolve around anyone wishing to speak about their relationship to Joanne.

In lieu of flowers Joanne wanted donations directed to Shepherd Home hospice at 1959 Five Mile Line Road, Penfield, New York 14526. As a past First Lady of the Shrine donations can also be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children c/o Damascus Shrine, 979 Bay Rd., Webster, NY 14580.
