JACK ROHR

My sympathies and condolences to Rob’s family. I had the pleasure of knowing Rob for more than 20 years. He was a unique and special individual. I participated, with others, for many years in his annual Living History program held at Edmondson Hall, and I know how committed and passionate he was about this special program. I was able to witness over the years Rob’s dedication to restore his historic home of which he was so proud. We discussed history and historical events many times. In 1996, Rob joined a group of Civil War enthusiast of which I was a member, and he traveled with us to Richmond, Virginia where we toured the Museum of the Confederacy in the company of and later had lunch with Colonel J.E.B. Stuart, IV. I have a photo of Rob with Col. Stuart from that day. Only recently learning his book had been published, I was hopeful to gain an autographed copy and personally congratulate him on his achievement. May God grant comfort to the family. The South has lost one of its finest gentlemen.
