Some plant and some water

In the Summer of 1971, Bro. Stockard asked me if I had been saved. I said, "I believe John 3:16", and quoted it to him. He, then, quoted James 2:19 to me, "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." With that verse I knew I was sunk, and thought, "I'm no better than the devils." He didn't stay long, but from that day on I would search the scriptures to see how I could get in good with God. One evening, as I was reading, I came across First John 1:9....I knelt, prayed, and knew when finished, that the Lord had just saved me. The date was Oct. 20, a Wednesday, and I could hardly wait for Sunday to roll around, so I could walk the aisle and tell Bro. Stockard I had been saved in my home. He asked if I would like to be baptized. I said, "Yes, tonight" ! He baptized me that night. I thank the Lord for this servant who planted, or watered so that God could give the increase by saving my soul. Lord bless his family.
