I knew Ellen, then Jan, years ago in Washington, DC when she was a crucial part of a support group of women during turbulent times in the church. She was deeply sensitive and passionate about the church becoming "a larger tent" with room for everyone's truths and experiences. Her passion and compassion were very important to me personally and to our whole group. We were quite moved when she dedicated Foremothers to us. May she know healing and joy.
