John Crossley will be forever part of my life. In the early 80s, when I was I young man of twenty or so, and just arrived from Romania, I was privileged to hear him sing with his original band in the “coffee house”. His music remained with me always and it was passed to my sons, nephews and nieces. John worked closely with our Romanian community in New York, being a voice for the persecuted Church in Eastern Europe. I saw him last at Richard Wurmbrand’s funeral. Knowingly or not, John has touched many lives and he transferred parts of his heart and soul to others. I am one of them.
I pray that forevermore he has found the peace he was always looking for. I pray that I will see and hear him again.
Great man, great brother in Christ, great and dear friend.
Why is it that we realize how much someone means to us only after they are gone? I guess that we kind of know that upon need they will be there, whenever though that assurance of their presence is gone, all related memories and moment rush in and it becomes clear how special that person was. All the memories of John spread over more than 10 years just got a whole new meaning. He will be greatly missed.
