I am writing on behalf of my Mother, Gerda, to extend our condolences to Geoffrey, Duncan, and Gregory and their families on the passing of Gertrud. My mother will sorely miss Gertrud, having known her since elementary school in Germany. I grew up hearing many stories about their school girl antics along with Sonya, Marcella, and Rita. My Mother always appreciated being in touch with Gertrud, even these many years later. They last spoke just before Christmas when my Mom sang her a Christmas song over the phone.
