Joyce, I am deeply saddened by the news of Marty's passing. A colleague, a leader, a teacher and most important of all, a friend. Marty was a fine City Manager and public servant throughout his stellar career. Glendale has much to thank Marty for as do I and my fellow City Mangers. Marty and I shared many interests and moments as our careers ran in parallel lines. I will remember him always and cherish the influence he has had on my life. My condolences to you and your family. He talked of you and your family with such love and savored the joy he received in the grandfather role. He will be sorely missed, yet has left footprints in the sand for others to follow. I am proud to be his friend and will remain so.
